Zembo Monster Mashup Brewfest

It’s not Halloween without that old graveyard smash the “Monster Mash.” This year, though, the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg blows Bobby Pickett out of the water with the Zembo Monster Mashup Brewfest. It’s like trick-or-treating, but with beer. The brewfest, which takes place on October 31 from 5-9 p.m., features offerings from 20 established and up-and-coming breweries including Hummelstown-based Howling Henry’s Brewery, Hanover’s Aldus Brewing Company, Carlisle-based Molly Pitcher Brewing Company, Evil Genius and more. The event features food, live music and a costume contest with prizes. Try to think of something better than “craft beer fan,” like maybe a “pumpkin-peach ale” costume, or the high-priced lawyers negotiating AB InBev and SABMiller’s plot to take over the world, or the always classic Duffman. Tickets range from $35-$55 and $10 for designated drivers. Get tickets here.
