Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Wednesday, July 15.
1) Free Wings at Liquid Hero Brewery (York)
No bullshit: free wings. As in “no dollars out of your wallet but as much chicken as you can fit in your piehole free wings.” Here are your terms & conditions: one, you cannot bring the wings home. That’s just rude. Two, this starts at 6p.m. and continues while supplies last, so stuff your face while you can. Three – and, look, maybe this isn’t a rule, but it’s just polite – consider getting a brew or two to wash down all that chow.
2) Zeroday’s Lip Synch Fight Club: The 80s Movie Soundtrack Edition (Harrisburg)
Zeroday Brewing Co.‘s Wednesday night lip synching competition is back, and this time, it’s asking you to get your groove on to songs from great 80s movie soundtracks. Don’t lie. You saw Dirty Dancing, you loved it, and you still know all the lyrics to “Time of My Life.” You can lay down a mean edition of Gerard McMann’s “Cry Little Sister” from The Lost Boys. The opening notes of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” hit you with a wave of The Breakfast Club nostalgia. Get out the ol’ Aquanet for old times’ sake and gather up your props: the campier, the better. Lip synching free play starts at 7:30p.m. and the competition will run after that. The It’s All Greek to You food truck will be there to help you fuel up.
3) Surfer Blood and more at the Millworks (Harrisburg)
If you’re ready to rock out this evening, head to Harrisburg. The Millworks is hosting a free concert at 9p.m. this evening. The alt rockers and Coachella alums of Surfer Blood will be bringing their brand of tunes to the stage, backed up by Baltimore-based pop group Sun Club and dreamy psychedelic pop group Weekender.
