Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Wednesday, June 24.
1) Arooga’s Yuengs and Wings Cruise (Harrisburg)
Attention, everybody searching for a finger-lickin’ good cure for the Wednesday workweek woes: unfortunately you’ve missed the boat for tonight’s Yeungs and Wings cruise. Boarding starts at 5:45 p.m. tonight, and you’ll be cruising the sunset-lit Susquehanna from 6 – 8 with live acoustic guitar serenading you and all-you-can-eat wings courtesy of Arooga’s. (Your ticket also includes the price of a Yuengling at the bar. This can also be substituted for a soda or for water, if you don’t drink or are highly discerning about what you do drink.) If this sounds up your alley, mark your calendars or purchase tickets for July 22’s Yuengs and Wings cruise. The official Yuengs and Wings ticket is $29.50 ; if you want neither the Yuengs nor the wings, you can get a cruise-only ticket for $15.
2) Shawan and the Wonton at the River City Blues Club (Harrisburg)
It’s no secret that Shawan and the Wonton is an up-and-coming duo that we’re excited about, but it always bears repeating (have you seen the cover of this month’s issue?). If you haven’t seen Shawan perform yet – or if you’re in the mood for some incredible R&B-flavored tunes – you should fix that, stat. Luckily for you, she’s playing tonight. Jet over to the River City Blues Club for their 7:30 jam.
3) Bingo at Liquid Hero Brewery (York)
If you’re based near York and looking for some kind of entertainment after work, you can always count on Liquid Hero to have something going on. Tonight, it’s bingo at 7 p.m. There will be prizes for the winner of every round, so grab some overly competitive friends and enjoy a nice little fight to the death – or, that is, some friendly competition – over some of their ale. Hell, why not get there a little early for their 4 – 6 p.m. happy hour to fill up on a little liquid courage?
Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
