We first tapped Lancaster-based artist Drew Nowacoski back in October to illustrate our zombie apocalypse-themed triptych cover for the Halloween issue. This month, Nowacoski has again struck artistic gold in creating an image representative of a piece writer Erin Dorney penned exploring the at-times-murky waters of digital dating. Over the weekend, photographer Garrity Powers posted a timelapse video he shot depicting Nowacoski’s process in creating the cover image. And it’s awesome. The 90-second video begins with Nowacoski sitting at his drafting table, rolling up his sleeves and dipping his brush into paint before taking off into the world of digital touch-ups, finally settling on a visual of the cover in print sitting next to a cup of coffee.
