Violent Femmes premiere "Memory" from first album in fifteen years

The voice is a little deeper, but the angst and acoustic jangle of the Violent Femmes has remained more or less the same since 1982. Today, they released their first single from the upcoming We Can Do Anything, their first album in fifteen years. The Violent Femmes reunion has steadily been picking up steam since 2013 when frontman Gordan Gano and bassist Brian Ritchie reformed to play festival dates. Original drummer Victor DeLorenzo has not returned to the fold, and replacement drummer (and former Dresden Doll) Brian Viglione recently left the group. The band put out their first new material last year in the form of an EP titled Happy New Year. Listen to “Memory” below.
