Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Tuesday, June 16.
1) Dogfish Head Tap Takeover at The Depot (York)
Beer lovers, we know where you’ll be tonight. Flock on over to The Depot in York and check out the Dogfish Head Tap Takeover they’re hosting tonight. They’ll also be hosting some awesome live music. Jaye Jayle, a one-man outfit by Evan Patterson, will be bringing the boogie, ballads, and the blues. Echoes the Soul will be bringing some haunting and powerful vocals with killer mandolin work – you might not be able to break a mandolin on the stage floor, but they deliver the same level of emotional impact as a guitar. Doors open and beer pours at 6 p.m.
2) PechaKucha Night at Tellus 360 (Lancaster)
Tellus360 consistently brings the coolest events to the Central PA neck of the woods. Tonight at 7 p.m., be sure to check out the fifth installation of their PechaKucha nights. PechaKucha (say that 5 times fast) is a form of presentation developed by a group of Japanese architects meant to keep speakers from talking for too long. In a PechaKucha, 20 images are presented for 20 seconds as the speaker talks. The images change automatically; no slide can be shown for more or less than 20 seconds. What you end up with is an awesome, often intriguing, sometimes moving presentation on… well, whatever your presenter wants to speak about. Could be architecture, could be craft beer, could be memes. Who knows? The best part? It takes exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds – less time than it takes to finish a coffee. There’s no cover tonight, so you might as well check it out.
3) Bingo at Liquid Hero (York)
Liquid Hero in York is proud to announce the start of their Tuesday Bingo Nights. Grab some booze, grab a bingo board, and settle in for an hour or two. Winners receive a prize of a mysterious nature that we are not privy to, so guess you’ll have to go to check it out! Good luck.
Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
