Tuesday 3 on 3: Mexitalica, Irish Music, & BYO...V?

Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Tuesday, July 21.

1) Mexitalica Open Mic at Mexitaly (York)

Mexitaly’s having an open mic night this evening. From 8p.m.-11p.m., mic master AD Chandler will be hosting an evening of song… or acoustic guitar strumming, or artful wailing – anything can happen, really. Grab some grub and perform or catch some of the local talent as you sip on a beer.

2) Jackie Daly & Matt Cranitch at Tellus360 (Lancaster)

World-renowned Irish musicians, accordionist Jackie Daly (formerly of De Danaan and Patrick Street) and fiddle master Matt Cranitch of popular band Sliabh Notes, are performing together tonight at Tellus360. Their collaborative history attests to their skill; their CDs, 2010’s The Living Stream and 2014’s Rolling On, both came out to critical acclaim. If you’re looking for something a little different to enrich your Tuesday night, the playing starts at 8p.m. and tickets are $15. UPDATE: Tellus360 has announced that they have decided to make this concert free. Now you have no excuse not to get cultured.

3) Bring Your Own Vinyl at the Holy Hound Taproom (York)

If the other options on this list just aren’t, like, hip enough for you, man, dig out your old records and dust off your quiet appreciation for the finer things in life. It’s Bring Your Own Vinyl night at the Holy Hound Taproom. Their current tap list is stocked with brews like Peak Organic IPA and Dogfish Head Noble Rot, so, you know, why not enjoy a draft while you’re nodding your head to the golden oldies – and whatever else is on vinyl? The Taproom’s open from 4p.m.-1a.m.
