Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Tuesday, June 30.
1) I’d Tap That at Cafe 1500 (Harrisburg)
Today at 5p.m., the craft brewmeisters over at Zeroday and the kitchen commandos at Cafe 1500 have joined forces to present to you a menu release and draft event not soon to be forgotten. Chef Ben at Cafe 1500 is releasing the cafe’s summer menu. How’s fried chicken with jalapeño-bacon jam sound? Is smoked salmon and fennel pizza more up your aisle? And what about that draft? Well, Zeroday’s reached a milestone: for the first time ever, you can get one of their brews (their Wit’s End Witbier) on draft, and only at Cafe 1500 (for now). If you hurry, you can try to reserve a table (not mandatory, but highly recommended). Still on the fence? Keep in mind: there’s $2 fish tacos tonight from 5-7p.m. in the cafe’s bar area, and it’s half off sangrias. Pretty sweet.
2) Texas Hippie Coalition at the Chameleon Club (Lancaster)
Catch these hard-rockin’ heavy metal hippies at the Chameleon tonight at 7 p.m. Vocalist Big Dad Rich describes the band as “like Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top had a child, and Pantera ended up raising it,” so basically this event is mandatory. Tickets are going to run you from $10-$12, which is a small price for the band with maybe the most weirdly specific self-descriptor we’ve seen that doesn’t involve the words “psychedelic,” “post-,” or “-core.” Check out their song “Pissed Off and Mad About It,” which is definitely among the top 10 best song titles we’ve heard this week:
3) WWE Smackdown (Hershey)
In the mood to get your rumble on? Well, you’re in luck. It just so happens that tonight at 7p.m. in the Giant Center in Hershey, you can catch a superpowered WWE event. Spectators can witness, among numerous other things, the clash of titans Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Tickets range from $17.85 with processing fee to $102.85 with processing fee if you want to get really fancy. Get ’em while you can – they’re going fast.
Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
