Last month, traditional folk trio The Stray Birds announced they had signed with Yep Roc Records for their sophomore full-length album, Best Medicine. Just shy of a year since dropping the Echo Sessions EP in November 2013, Best Medicine is scheduled for an October 21 release.

Today, Folk Alley debuted the album’s title track, “Best Medicine,” which also serves as the record’s opener.

Best Medicine was recorded at Stonebridge Studios in Leesburg, VA, and is co-produced by the band and Stuart Martin. Weighing in at 12 tracks, Best Medicine features 10 original songs and two traditionals that fans will certainly recognize from The Stray Birds’ live repertoire – “Pallet” and “Who’s Gonna Shoe.”
