The Primate Fiasco is to the typical music scene what flash mobs are to typical street performance: faster, louder, flashier, and 50% more facial hair.
Students of the “everything and the kitchen sink” school of music, they like to throw a whole wave of beats and chords and saxophone riffs at a wall and see what sticks. Their lyrics can take loops and twists that it’d be hard for a bat to follow in flight. But here’s the thing: it sounds pretty good.
They’ll be bringing their particular brand of brash brass around the East Coast in the coming weeks. On their way, they’re making a stop in Harrisburg. If you feel like getting your feet moving and your blood pumping as the party train chugs relentlessly toward the weekend, they’re a great bet to be your conductors. Luckily, they’re playing tonight at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company. Imagine listening to these folks with a beer in your hand. Doors open at 8 p.m., the funk starts at 9 p.m., and there’s a $5 cover.
