You can fret and argue over beer pairings all day, or you can just agree that beer goes great with food, in general, as a rule. The corollary to this fact is that lots of beer goes great with lots of food.
Folks of that mindset might be interested to note that this Saturday, Sept. 19, The Garlic Poet is hosting another chef’s table. This time around, there will be four courses – two featuring items from the upcoming fall menu – and each will be paired with a craft beer from Bucks County-based Free Will Brewing. The Garlic Poet’s Executive Chef, Kurt Wewer, will share the scene with a representative from Free Will Brewing. They’ll both be there to give attendees the low-down on their respective creations and answer any questions about how exactly those locally sourced dishes and craft brews got to the table.
Speaking of: Highlights of the menu include a thyme and rosè infused grilled Weiser Orchard’s watermelon, paired with Free Will Brewing’s Grape Sour, and a Berkshire pork ribeye cap steak paired with Free Will Brewing’s Coffee Oatmeal Brown Ale (served from a cinnamon and chilies firkin). If that’s not enough to get your mouth watering, you can check the full menu (and make your reservation) here. Tickets are all-inclusive, and they run for $60. They’re going fast – there are only about 10 left – so snap them up while you can. The dinner runs from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
