The Dresden Dolls announce first shows in eight years

After eight years apart (give or take a short reunion or two), it appears that The Dresden Dolls are back in action. Technically, it will be a return of Amanda Palmer playing Dresden Dolls music with the added bonus of original drummer Brian Viglione, who just finished a trek with the similarly reunited Violent Femmes. All the same, even if it’s just a band of two people getting back together, it’s still big news.

Thus far, only two shows have been announced, but I’m guessing that a mountain of them will be added in the near future. After all, it’s festival season, baby!! The two shows scheduled currently will be in their hometown of┬áBoston on August 27 and New York City the next day on the 28th. Tickets go on sale April 15.┬áCheck out some of their still-great videos below.

Kevin Stairiker is a features writer for Fly. He is a graduate of Temple University and enjoys writing in third person. When he isn't writing, he's probably playing guitar for a litany of bands, reading comics or providing well-needed muscle at The Double Deuce.
