If you’re signed by the same guy who signed on Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses, you know you’re kind of a big deal. If you record the title track for the best-selling Irish album in the history of Ireland, that rather cements it.
That doesn’t appear to have gone to Eleanor McEvoy’s head, though – her music is still honest and very well-arranged. That wildly successful album is a compilation of several works by female Irish artists called “A Woman’s Heart,” and the track Eleanor wrote for it is “Only a Woman’s Heart,” if you’re keeping score (and it remains, to this day, the biggest Irish album of all time). Her musical prowess is certainly not limited to collaboration, though she’s done plenty of them, including with Dave Rotheray of The Beautiful South; she stands just as well on her own.
Eleanor McEvoy is performing at Tellus360 tonight, October 8. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
