Sunday A.M. Radio: Mogwai drops an 'Atomic' bomb

When BBC4 needed a score to its 2015 documentary “Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise,” about the terrifying disasters and technological triumphs of the atomic age (called “an impressionistic kaleidoscope of our nuclear times and the beauty of the atomic world”),  they tapped Mogwai – the atmospheric-leaning Scottish post-rock group. Mogwai delivered an elegant collection of soundscapes ranging from minimal string pieces to electronic drum and synth vamps. “Atomic” was released on April 1.
