Sunday A.M. Radio: A Tycho ambient mash-up

Sometimes at work when I’m in #ImFocusedMode, but also occasionally at home when I’m just relaxing and listening to music, I’ll try to sync up a few ambient songs to make a mashup version. Something like Brian Eno’s “Little Fishes” with Phish’s “Insects” and maybe some nature sounds just for extra atmosphere.

Tycho is one of my favorite artists to do this with. Tycho somehow makes music that is both super chill but also kind of energizing. Definitely perfect for a busy day at the office when you’re in the zone but not stressing out. OK, let’s get weird. So, to truly get in my zone, I’ll try something like this:

Then to achieve maximum ambient #chillz I’ll toss in some Eno and Fripp.

How about a Tycho, Eno, Fripp, blue whale collab? We can do that.

Maybe a few thunderstorms over the sea just for that perfect mysterious midnight ocean vibe?

Start all the videos up and adjust the volume to your liking. I turn Tycho up the loudest, but hey, if you’re a big blue whale fan, then maybe pump that one up a little. Sometimes after one song ends, Youtube even gets in on the act. Like just now, they mashed up Mogwai’s “Take Me Somewhere Nice” and Robert Fripp’s “Acceptance/ Affirming” plus, of course, we still have the whale calls and the thunderstorm. Thanks Youtube, you really get me.

Have any suggestions for super chill ambient mashups? Tell me about them at
