Spring Gate's Beer and Bacon Feast

If they made an adult version one of those picture books that help children learn the alphabet, the two entries for “B” would be “beer” and “bacon.” Perhaps the two greatest “B” words in the English language. Just saying them brings a smile to our faces. Actually, watching this clip brought smiles to our faces. Go ahead, watch it at work for a few minutes. We did. Because research.

This Saturday from 1-6 p.m., Spring Gate Vineyard (5790 Devonshire Rd., Harrisburg) hosts the Beer and Bacon Feast. That’s right, beer and bacon – the ultimate expression of American freedom.

Enjoy samplings of Spring Gate Brewery beers (American Pale Ale from 1-3:30 and Belgian Double from 3:30-6) and then sample some a la carte bacon-based dishes from Grand Cru. Here’s a sneak peek at the menu:

Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers – $3.00 each
Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges – $6.00 for a small boat
Bacon Mac & Cheese – $5.00 a bowl
Thick Cut Bacon on a Stick – $4.00 each
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp – 2 on a skewer with pepper and onions $8.00 a skewer
Bacon Wrapped Scallops – 2 on a skewer with pepper and onions $9.00 a skewer
Bacon Cheeseburger sliders – 2 for $7.00
Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog – $5.00

Grab a napkin and wipe your chin (you’re drooling a bit) and make plans to hit up the Beer and Bacon Feast at Spring Gate on Saturday.
