See 'Sleepaway Camp' at Zoetropolis on Friday

The good folks at Zoetropolis Theatre and Mr. Suit Records have another horror classic ready for their Fright Fridays series, and it’s a doozy. The 1983 classic “Sleepaway Camp” is known for a lot of great moments that would ultimately spoil the whole thing if too many details were shed, so I’ll leave it at this: It’s a post-“Friday the 13th” summer camp slasher flick featuring an introverted girl named Angela dealing with her many bullies. If you have seen “Sleepaway Camp,” you know exactly why it’s grown to be a cult favorite and why it’s worth seeing on the big screen. This sterling piece of cinema begins at 9 p.m. and tickets are $10. As always, the event is B.Y.O.B with an I.D.

(Writer’s note: This animated video below is from the film podcast “How Did This Get Made?” and discusses the very first scene of the film, so it doesn’t spoil much if you haven’t seen the movie yet.)
