Punk, Acoustic and Jam: 3 Shows to Check Out Tonight

So Tropical Depression Bill may be making its way into Central PA tonight, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay at home. There’s Lots of great live music to hear tonight in the region.

1) Against Me! at the Chameleon Club (Lancaster)

Laura Jane Grace (formerly Thomas James Gabel) gets a lot of attention for her sexuality, but it’s her band’s music that should really get the most attention. Against Me! had their breakthrough album in 2007 with New Wave and received critical praise for last year’s release, Transgender Dysphoria Blues. (Read about the band in Fly’s online article.) Opening the show is former My Chemical Romance guitarist and vocalist Frank Iero & The Cellabration and San Francisco’s Annnie Girl & The Flight. Tickets are $22 at the door.

2) Scott Reynolds and Joe Jack Talcum at Fulton Street Arts Co-op (Lancaster)

Known for his vocals with Los Angeles-now-Fort Collins, CO-based punk band ALL, Scott Reynolds performs songs from his solo release, Stupid World. Also on the bill is Philly’s own dead milkman from The Dead Milkmen, Joe Jack Talcum, along with Toy Cannons, Feeding the Pigeons and Broken Field Runner. The show starts at 6 p.m., and tickets are $10 at the door.

3) Kyle Morgan and Shrimpboat at Tellus360 (Lancaster)

It’s the Kyle Morgan and Shrimpboat spectacular tonight as the two acts join forces for a night of acoustic and jam sounds. (Read Fly’s story on the show.) Tickets are $5.
