A new European wining and dining experience is now open in midtown Harrisburg. note. Bistro and Wine Bar opened its doors today at the corner of North Second and Harris streets, adding an extra dose of eclectic flavor to the Capital City’s ever-evolving dining and nightlife scene.
With more than 40 wines available by the glass or bottle, note. aims to provide diners a casual environment to sit, relax and chat. The wine selection features predominately those sourced from across the pond – Italy, France, Spain. Craft beers and cocktails are also available.
On the food menu are a variety of small plates utilizing locally sourced and in-season ingredients. The kitchen is led by chef Emi Starr, who comes to note. after a lengthy stint in the kitchen at Cafe Fresco.
note.’s opening comes just a week after longtime Harrisburg dining spot Stock’s on Second renovated its space to launch a new gastropub and farm-to-table concept, not to mention following the closing of Zia’s at Red Door. Restaurateur Nick Laus, who owns Cafe Fresco and Home 231, is also on the verge of introducing Cork & Fork, a “pizzeria wine bar” at the corner of North Second and State streets.
This shift in the dining and drinking landscape certainly indicates a new guard in Harrisburg’s nightlife scene – one previously dominated by clubs and party bars.
