Canes. Absinthe. Goggles. Top hats. Corsets. Cool leather vests. Locomotives. Prepare for a three-day mash-up of Victorian-era pageantry and sci-fi-style gadgetry at the Steampunk unLimited festival at the Strasburg Railroad from October 16-18. Typically, a ride on the Strasburg Railroad transports you back in time, but during Steampunk unLimited the train makes stops in some sort of strange quasi-future past. Attendees can enjoy circus-style side shows, steampunk puppets, fire performers and live music by Abney Park, This Way to the Egress, Unwoman, Eli August and the Abandoned Buildings and Frenchy and the Punk. Special train ride events include a Victorian murder mystery on October 16, an absinthe cocktail tasting on October 17, a high tea service on October 17 and 18 and much more. Still not sold on steampunk? We did mention that there will be absinthe, right? Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
