If you missed out on the heyday of neon light shows and electronica, whether due to age (or temperament) at the time, you can make up for the circumstances of your birth (or personality) tonight at the Lizard Lounge.
Event planning company House of Hearts: Lancaster and the folks behind Neon Kaleidoscope are bringing you a very special sort of dance party. Tonight from 9 p.m.-2 a.m., DJs Geoffro and Diesel are resurrecting the old days at the roots of modern EDM. All music played this evening will be straight from the ’80s, ’90s, and early ’00s – grunge house, acid house, ’90s rave classics, et cetera. There’s no cover, which means you can save your hard-earned cash for $2 pizza, $1 well drinks, and replenishing your stash of Day-Glo armwarmers and super-powerful glow sticks.
Keep in mind that, in the true style of parties gone by, there’s going to be fog, lasers, and about eighty different kinds of flashing lights, so the photosensitive or particularly asthmatic might need to just play “Sandstorm” on repeat at home to attempt to recreate the experience.
To get you in the mood, here’s a garage house classic to jam to wherever you are (but maybe wait to break out the fire hoops until you’re at the Lizard Lounge).
