Monday 3 on 3: Loretta Lynn, King Street Band, & Pool

Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Monday, August 24.

1) Loretta Lynn at American Music Theatre (Lancaster)

If you click quick, you might just catch one of the scant few remaining $59 tickets left for queen of country Loretta Lynn’s 7:30 p.m. appearance at the American Music Theatre. If not, don’t feel too bad – there were barely a handful left at press time. Well, feel a little bad, because how many people get to see this powerhouse live?

2) King Street Big Band at Tellus360 (Lancaster)

Consider yourself lucky that you’re not currently reading a sentence with as much 1920s slang crammed into it as is humanly possible. Our enthusiasm for this event is that boundless. Get ready to cut up a rug, folks – at 8 p.m. tonight, the King Street Big Band will be playing the Temple showroom. For those who weren’t born with a rhythm in their feet, there’ll be a lesson at 7 p.m. that’s included in the $10 cover.

3) Free Pool at the Overbrook Cafe (York)

Calling all players from pool sharks to guppies: when a game’s free, you can’t go wrong. Up your cue quotient and practice your proficiencies with ye old billiards at the Overbook cafe this evening. Hell, while you’re there, have a drink. Pretend you’re in the Wild West. Try not to scratch too much.

Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
