Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Monday, August 10.
1) Jim Gaffigan at the GIANT Center (Hershey)
Need a laugh to shake off the post-weekend blues and start off your week? You’re in luck! Funnyman Jim Gaffigan’s “Contagious” tour is making a stop at the GIANT Center in Hershey tonight at 8 p.m. You never really know what you’ll get with Gaffigan – topics can range from what a hard job being the Pope must be to how much phone calls suck – but whatever it is, you’ll definitely be laughing about it. Tickets range from $39.50-75, but hurry – online sales stop at 5 p.m.
2) Karaoke Monday at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (Harrisburg)
Bust out the John Mellencamp, kids; it’s showtime. There’s just no better cure for the beginning-of-the-workweek blues than getting jiggy with it. Luckily, the folks at the HMAC agree. Tonight at 9 p.m. you can jam your heart out on Herr (for free, no less) and listen to the dulcet tones of your fellow workweek songbirds crooning it out.
3) Red Awareness Ribbon Fundraiser at White Rose Bar & Grill (York)
Want to do a little good with your Happy Hour this evening? Stop by the White Rose Bar & Grill in York tonight from 7 p.m.-12 a.m. – and bring cash. During that time period, White Rose is matching all cash tips in an effort to raise funds for the fight against leukemia and lymphoma. (Til 12 a.m., Miller Lite drafts are $2, and til 10 p.m., they’ve got a $9.99 steak and fries special going on, so you can fill up & do good all at the same time.)
Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
