If you long for the good ol’ days when giving your t-shirt collection some killer mods was still in style, Americana artists Woody Pines has the old-school challenge for you. The Nashville-based roots/ragtime singer-songwriter is currently offering “$100 CASH MONEY,” along with free tickets to an upcoming tour stop, for the winner of his t-shirt modification contest.

To enter, fans and Etsy shop owners must purchase Pines’ tour tee, modify the crap out of it and post a photo of the final product to Instagram with the #woodypinestshirtmodificationcontest and #woodypines hashtags. The contest runs through August 19.

In an effort to avoid any confusion, Pines has supplied the following definition of “modification”:

Modification = alteration, difference, change, redoing, refashioning, remaking, remodeling, revamping, review, revise, revision, reworking, variation, amendment, correction, rectification, reform; conversion, deformation, distortion, metamorphosis, mutation, transfiguration, transformation; fluctuation, oscillation, shift; displacement, replacement, substitution; adjustment, modulation, regulation, tweak; redesign, redo. the possibilities are endless, you can go anywhere, just go!

To avoid any further confusion, Pines posted on the Facebook event page for the contest last week:

A few people have asked if they could adapt, adjust, become, convert, correct, customize, doctor, mutate, recast, redo, refashion, reform, remodel, reorganize, repair, reshape, revise, rework, shift gears, switch over, transfigure, transform, transmogrify, transmute, turn, turn one around, turn over new leaf, turn the corner, turn the tables, or tween there old Woody Pines shirts…. YES!!!

There’s speculation that this is either an effort to get rid of some old tour shirts, or to get his fans to check out his new website. But either way, this is a bona fide opportunity to bedazzle the hell out of a shirt and make some extra scratch in the process. Cha-ching.
