When you watch a band go from a soundtrack-style album meant to be played nonstop to an album that sounds eerily like it was transported body and soul from the eighties, you’re dealing with a band with a fair amount of versatility. Marianas Trench just released that eighties-influenced album, “Astoria,” on October 23 of this year – lead singer Josh Ramsay drew influence from the wild ups and downs he’s experienced in the last few years, from being nominated for a Grammy for his work on the Carly Rae Jepsen tune “Call Me Maybe” to finding out his mother was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. The result is a record that swings from high-energy danceable tunes to soaring sad ballads. They’re currently embarking on their new “Hey You Guys!” tour. Tonight, November 24, they’re stopping at the Chameleon Club. On the fence? Check ’em out – this is the music video for “One Love,” a single off of “Astoria.”
Sound good to you? Tickets are $22. The music starts at 6 p.m.
