Lancaster Pride Festival returns to Buchanan Park

June is officially LGBT Pride month, and today, Lancaster is bringing Pride festivities back to the city’s Buchanan Park.

The annual Lancaster Pride Festival runs from 12-6 p.m., packing in a whole host of activities in that six-hour stretch. In addition to several drag performances, there’ll be several bands and musical artists performing. Keep your eye on the stage around 4-4:30 p.m. to see a performance by the Ephrata Performing Arts Center cast of La Cage Aux Folles presenting a few numbers from that classic musical. Of course, several different vendors will be present, varying from the informational to the organizational to the good ol’-fashioned craft-selling.

All that watching and browsing is going to wear you out. Never fear: plenty of food vendors will be there to keep you fueled up. Greco’s Italian Ices, Bricker’s Famous French Fries, the Urban Olive, and the Whistlestop Café, among others, will all have a presence in Buchanan Park throughout the day – so you probably won’t have to worry about getting some great grub. Finally, if you’ve wrapped everything up and still have the urge to get your Pride on, you can head on over to the official afterparty at the Tally Ho from 6 p.m.-2 a.m.

That should hold you over – till the Central PA Pride Festival on July 25, anyway.
