Kable House Presents Concert Series Coming To York Central Market

KableA new independent concert series will soon make its home at the historic York Central Market building. The volunteer-driven operation – called Kable House Presents – was announced this week, as well as a Kickstarter campaign to raise the remaining funding needed for the pilot year. According to the campaign site, the initial funding was the result of “a $10,000 Creative Impact Award from the Cultural Alliance of York County and matching funds for that grant from generous friends and community benefactors.”

Kable House Presents aims to cater to up-and-coming touring acts in the 100-200 draw range, stating that York has a void for this mid-sized venue:

“Our downtown is fortunate to have two well-established, great-sounding venues at opposite ends of the capacity spectrum: one accommodating audiences of up to 500 and one seating up to 50. But we are often overlooked for shows in between those sizes, either because they are priced too high for the smaller venue or not able to draw enough of an audience for the larger space.”
