Jefferson Airplane co-founder Paul Kantner dies

Paul Kantner, one of the founding members of Jefferson Airplane, and frontman of Jefferson Starship, died Thursday of organ failure and septic shock.

Kantner, 74, takes an era of peace, love and drugs with him. The Airplane was synonymous with LSD, Monterey and Woodstock.

Among rock and roll greats, Kantner joins the string of rock ‘n’ roll deaths in the past two months, including David Bowie, Lenny Kilmister and Glenn Frey.
