It’s Friday morning, and you haven’t made any plans yet. No worries. You came to the right place. We’ve surveyed the local scene and found a pretty nice selection of events, from wine festivals and beer releases to riverboat murder mysteries and live music. Check out our picks below, or hit up our entertainment calendars and deck/patio lists for more options.

Harrisburg Wine Festival (Harrisburg)

The Harrisburg Wine Festival takes place at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in downtown Harrisburg tonight from 5-8:30 p.m. Sample wine from an extensive list of 575 different wines. Two of the three tasting sessions are sold out, but tickets still remain for the Grand Tasting session taking place from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Speaking of wine…

Relaxing outside with wine and live music is always a winning combination. Try Gettysburg’s Hauser Estate’s Hauser After Hours series with music from the Visitor’s Duo and food from the Chow Food truck tonight from 7-10 p.m. Or head to Middletown to hang out on the Vineyard and Brewery at Hershey’s deck and patio as they continue their Decked Out Live concert series with The Jazz Me Band from 6-10 p.m. And The Vineyard at Grandview in Mount Joy hosts its Wine By the Vine live music series on its 80-foot deck tonight with live music by Colebrook Road.

Taste the World food tour (Lancaster)

Second Fridays in Lancaster are now Taste the World Fridays. Purchase a passport and take walking tours of the city and sample offerings from some of the city’s best restaurants. “Signature Foods” is the theme of the first event. Unfortunately this event is sold out, BUT there is a chance tickets will become available.

David and Valerie Mayfield at the Holy Hound in York

If you’re a fan of David Mayfield (David Mayfield Parade) or Jessica Lea Mayfield, then logic would say you’re likely predisposed to enjoying the music of their parents – David and Valerie Mayfield. That’s how that works right? The husband and wife bluegrass and Americana duo raised their kids on the road touring in Bill Monroe’s old van. Now that the kids are famous and the nest is empty, mom and dad are hitting the road as a duo.

Pride of the Susquehanna Murder Mystery Cruise (Harrisburg)

Now that we’ve almost solved the mystery of “what to do tonight,” there suddenly appears another mystery to figure out. Board the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat for a “classic whodunit” murder mystery and dinner cruise at 7 p.m. Get tickets here.

Ridiculous movies

Looking for something a little more laid back? Go see a ridiculous movie like Hot Pursuit and make sarcastic comments or head to Midtown Cinema for Bloody Pit of Horror and let the Down in Front! improv comedy trio make the sarcastic comments for you.
