Going out this weekend? Here’s what’s on our radar for Friday night:

Uber launching in Lancaster

At 5pm tonight, the slick app-based ridesharing service Uber will officially be ready for service in Lancaster. Uber made its entry into Central Pa. back in January with the launch of Uber Harrisburg, which features a coverage area spanning from Carlisle to Palmyra and Linglestown to Boiling Springs. Users must create an Uber account and download the app to use the service. (iTunes / Google Play)

International Whisk(e)y Day

Today marks the observance of a maybe not-so-well-known boozy holiday: International Whisk(e)y Day. According to the official website, the March 27 date was elected in memoriam of the birthday of Michael Jackson – not the singer, but the influential English whisky and beer writer who died in 2007 as a result of his decade-long fight with Parkinson’s disease. Lancaster City Restaurant Week wrapping up

It’s last call for anyone wanting to experience Lancaster City Restaurant Week. The third annual #LCRW2015 (that’s the hashtag, by the way) features 36 participating eateries in downtown Lancaster with each featuring a $10, $20, $30 or $40 prix fixe menu (in addition to regular menu). The event wraps up on Sunday, so check out the menus on the LCRW website and make your reservations now.

Dark poetry/music night at The Parliament in York

The recently renovated and reopened art gallery and tea room The Parliament in York invites you to take a walk on the dark side tonight at its Are You Afraid of the Dark? event. Attendees are asked to share “dark” poetry, songs and stories, from scary tales to sad stories to bad dreams. Check out the event page for more info.

Zenkaikon comic convention in Lancaster kicks off

If you noticed some oddly dressed characters at Lancaster Central Market this afternoon, you need not be alarmed. They are here for the return of Zenkaikon, a cosplay and comic culture convention held at the Lancaster County Convention Center downtown. We’ll be at the event on Saturday and Sunday taking photos and participating, so follow along our Twitter and Facebook pages for real-time cosplay action.

Boomerang Bar & Grill soft opening tonight

The new dining component of Harrisburg Comedy Zone – Boomerang Bar & Grill – is doing a soft opening tonight and tomorrow as the HCZ welcomes comedian Tim Kidd.

As most of you know we have comedy shows booked this weekend. Even though we are not completely ready to open we have…
