Friday 3 on 3: Poetry, Latin Fuzion, & a Band

Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Friday, July 31.

1) Poetry at The Parliament: The Bedroom Sessions(York)

Looking to jump-start your Equality Fest weekend? Look no further. Beginning at 7 p.m. this evening, The Parliament will be presenting a combination of music and poetry by artist Josue exploring struggle, sexuality, and equality (check here for more deets). There’ll be open mic slots throughout the evening for the brave souls who want to share in that experience.

2) Latin Fuzion at Level 2 (Harrisburg)

In celebration of the launch of Latino Connection Magazine, Level 2 is hosting their first-ever Latin Fuzion Friday from 9 p.m.-2 a.m., featuring DJ Big Dave. While you’re dancing, should you get thirsty, know that Level 2’s Friday specials include $2 Heineken Slim cans and 6 cans for $10. Pro tip for the partiers: park at the garage across the street. If you get there between 5-10 p.m., parking is $5.

3) Screamin Daisys at the Jukebox (Lancaster)

Is a cover band that does everything from Uptown Funk to Ready to Go all you need to make your Friday nights complete? From 9 p.m.-1 a.m., The Jukebox in Lancaster is hosting the Screamin Daisys. The band does extremely dance-able covers of both older and newer hits.

Want more? You don’t have to wait ’til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
