Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2015 roars to life

Feeling the wind through your hair, or lack thereof, is only surpassed by feeling the wind through your hair for a worthy cause. This Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m., folks in the Harrisburg and Hershey areas might spot a very distinctive-looking cavalcade blazing down the roadways. That’s right: The Hershey-Harrisburg edition of the 2015 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will be roaring through a town near you. Check it:

Seriously, have you ever seen that many tweed jackets on the road?

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide fundraising effort to dress fancy and fight prostate cancer, with a myriad chapters across the globe. Despite the name, participating in the event is not limited to dudes; anyone is welcome to ride, or to back a rider. Keeping to the throwback/gentlemanly theme, the bikes permitted to ride are all classic styles – check here if you’re wondering if your bike fits.

It isn’t too late to register to ride or to back a rider; registration is free (though, of course, you’re encouraged to get friends and family to back you up). The exact route and other crucial details are only available to registered participants (and you can become one over here)… but we can tell you that the afterparty will be at the Harrisburg-area Lancaster Brewing Company.
