Day 31: St. Boniface Brewing Co. in Ephrata

31 Days of Decks in Central PA

Day 31

The region’s craft beer community has long known of the great brews being produced by Ephrata’s St. Boniface Brewing Co., and for good reason. Beers like Paideia Pale Ale and Libation DIPA can now be found on tap around the region and, as of the last few months, in 12-ounce cans, too.

But did you know that the St. Boniface brewpub is also a great spot to relax and soak in the rays and fresh air? The patio is quaint, offering just enough seating for 20. But that’s OK. The close quarters enable easy chatter with neighboring drinkers to exchange tasting notes and the like.

And if you go there in the next week, chances are good that the guy or gal sitting nearby will ask you if you are coming to the 2nd Annual St. Bonifest on June 6. The event runs from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and will not only occupy the patio, but the whole parking lot too. This year’s event features live music by The Last Time, Vinegar Creek Constituency Duo and Jake Lewis & The Clergy alongside food from The Fridge, Rocky’s BBQ, Souvlaki Boys and Sugar Whipped. Oh, and St. Boniface beers, of course. Advance tickets are $9 in advance and can be purchased at the brewpub. Day-of tickets are $10 at the gate.
