It’s no secret that the craft brewfest season is under way. If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy the summer weather with a refreshingly cold craft in your hand yet, this weekend offers not only two great options to enjoy you some craft brews, but the also the promise of some pleasant weather as well.
Dauphin County Brewfest
Saturday, 3-7 p.m.
Fort Hunter Park, Harrisburg
$35 adv./$50 at the gate; $15 designated driver
Now in its third year, the Dauphin County Brewfest features 30+ breweries ranging from Central PA breweries – Appalachian Brewing Co., Tröegs, Millbock, Liquid Hero and Lancaster Brewing Co. – to national favorites like Victory, Long Trail, Otter Creek and more. Live music spans the afternoon, with bluegrass music from Colebrook Road at 3 p.m., folk/rock from Mark DeRose at 4:30 p.m. and some driving Celtic rock from The Ogham Stones at 6 p.m. to close out the day. Blues & Brews

The fifth annual Blues & Brews returns to the grounds at Mount Hope Estate with two sessions of all-you-can-eat Chesapeake Bay crabs, live blues music and plenty o’ craft beer. The feast is not just limited to crabs, however; get ready for a full spread with brisket, shrimp, hot dogs and the Estate’s signature hush puppies. Swashbuckler Brewing Co. provides the brews (can’t go wrong with the Swashbuckler Gold kölsch). Blues master Angelo M. provides live music for both sessions. Just beware – no tickets are available at the gate, so you best get to claiming your place at the table now.
