This month there are lots of ‘toberfests, but if you’re only going to one (this weekend) make it Yorktoberfest. Before there was Hibrewnation, before there was the Treasure Island Beer Garden, there was Yorktoberfest – CrocodileDog Marketing’s annual fall wine and beer event benefitting the Sons of the American Legion.
Matthew Davis and Brian Dudley – the brains behind your favorite beer and wine festivals –introduced Central PA to Yorktoberfest, their version of Oktoberfest, in 2010 and the festival has been getting better and better ever since.
If you need a crash course in Pennsylvania wine and beers, look no further than the York Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11. The festival features a dozen PA wineries and a craft beer lineup that boasts some local favorites beside some national heavy hitters.
If you haven’t already purchased tickets, you should now because it’s looking like a perfectly mild fall weekend to relax outside, sip some beer and wine and listen to some great local music. Cheers!
