Can't make it to XPoNential? Newport Folk Fest? Stream them instead

This is a big weekend for music, as both the XPoNential Music Festival and Newport Folk Festival are going down in Camden, NJ, and Newport, RI, respectively. From Friday to Sunday, the pair of festivals will feature some of music’s biggest names (Roger Waters, My Morning Jacket, St. Vincent, Bela Fleck, to name a few) and indie favorites (Dawes, Shakey Graves, The Decembrists, The Tallest Man On Earth, First Aid Kit, to name a few) will all be on hand, with many of the acts slated to perform at both festivals.

But maybe you’ve got that family party on Saturday that made driving the seven hours to Newport for a Friday-only pass a bit unrealistic. Or perhaps this is your weekend to work since all you coworkers smartly requested off months ago so they themselves could go to XPoNential. Either way, if the festivals are there but you’re stuck here this weekend, we’ve got some good news for you.

Thanks to the modern invention of internet streaming services, you can get a front-row seat for the weekend’s performances all the while enjoying the climate-controlled comforts of your couch/bed/basement hammock.

Those interested in streaming the Newport Folk Festival will have to use their mind’s eye to see the bands playing, but you can at least listen to live audio thanks to a dedicated stream at TuneIn. The stream will be live from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday-Sunday (check out the full stream schedule over at NPR Music), including Bahamas, Lone Bellow, The Tallest Man on Earth on Friday; The Suffers, Langhorne Slim, Courtney Barnett, Jose Gonzalez and Brandi Carlisle on Saturday; and wrapping up with Field Report, Lara Marling and Shakey Graves on Sunday.

The live stream of XPoNential is produced by at VuHaus, a new non-profit, digital music video service that is partnered almost exclusively with non-commercial radio stations like WXPN. The stream will feature those acts playing on the River Stage, including Dawes, Courtney Barnett, Lone Bellow, First Aid Kit and Lord Huron. Here’s the lineup for who’s playing and when:
