Brews News: A trio of events in the craft beer sphere

You can argue about food and booze pairings all you like, but the real best pairing is brews and the weekend. Luckily, the craft beer sphere is bringing you some awesome events on Friday.

If you missed out on the chance to grab Lititz Craft Beer Fest tickets, you might be bumming somethin’ harsh right now. After all, it is sold out, right? Well, yes, technically, but you can still get your grubby little mits on some tickets now. Thank the Federal Taphouse in Lancaster for the opportunity – Friday, starting at 5 p.m., they’re hosting an IPA Throwdown. Here’s the deal – the Fed has selected ten different IPAs. You sit down, maybe grab some grub while you’re there, and vote for your favorite IPA on the ballot. (Haven’t tried them all? Well, lucky for you, they’re running a special on flights of these particular brews.) Your vote doubles as an entry toward winning Lititz Craft Beer Fest tickets. That’s what the kids refer to as “totally wicked.”

Of course, if you can’t quite make it to the Federal Taphouse, you have other options for trying to win tickets.

In other news, over at the Friendly Greek on Friday from 5-7 p.m., there’s a Wyndridge Farm tasting with complimentary samples going on. Nice of them, no? And a great way to start off the weekend.

Finally, if you really want to get your fiesta on, hit up Mudhook Brewing Co. in York this weekend. Friday and Saturday, the folks there are hosting a big ol’ summer beach party with bands and food galore – oh, and Peach Wheat Punch. Ya dig?
