More than a dozen artists, a dozen touring members, and over a hundred-plus shows a year are only some of the ingredients going into the Big Mean Sound Machine. The rest is a funky fusion that blends various kinds of jazz with world music. They’ve worked with everyone from Ghanaian artist Yao Foli “Cha Cha” Augustine and his band the Mosaic Foundation to Jay Spaker, and these varied influences show in their sound. Big Mean Sound Machine is currently on tour, and tonight, October 1, they’re bringing the party to the Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg. Bardledoo, the Harrisburg-based sax/drums/organ trio, will be supporting them. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $8 (plus a two buck processing fee.) Jam on.
