Beads, jambalaya & Hurricanes – Where to Mardi Gras in Central PA

Break out the beads and the bowl of gumbo. Here’s a rundown of some of the parties and events to help get you in the spirit of The Big Easy tonight, into the weekend and beyond.


Brucekie’s (Columbia) features a Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday (February 21). The event includes New Orleans-inspired food and drink specials, including gumbo, jambalaya, Hurricanes and Sazeracs, free beads and DJ Javier spinning tunes from 9 p.m.-1:30 a.m.

Bay City Restaurant (Hanover) hosts a Mardi Gras beer dinner tomorrow (February 18) from 6-9 p.m. The event includes a four-course dinner with beers from local breweries for $25.

Bourbon Street Saloon (Harrisburg) hosts an official Fireball Mardi Gras party tonight. There’s a $500 prize to the person who amasses the biggest collection of beads.

Bube’s Brewery (Mount Joy) hosts its annual Mardi Gras party with DJ Edge and Jimmy Jam playing music, plenty of beads and prizes on February 28. Come back the next night for Mardi Gras gender-bender karaoke with prizes for girls who sing the best guy songs and guys who sing the best girl songs on March 1.

Cat’s Meow (Manheim) hosts a Mardi Gras party with a DJ, karaoke, drink specials and free food on Saturday (February 21) at 10 p.m.

Fat Daddy’s (York) hosts its Mardi Gras-themed party on Friday (February 20). Unleash your ragin’ Cajun with drink specials, giveaways, crowns, hats, coins and, of course, beads.

Horse Inn (Lancaster) has a Mardi Gras celebration with live music by the Tom Pontz Dixieland Trio on Friday (February 18).

Hunger-N-Thirst (Lancaster) features Mardi Gras-themed food specials tonight, including shrimp jambalaya with duck confit-rabbit sausage and fasnachts filled with vanilla bean cream.

Nick’s Bistro (Marietta) features a Mardi Gras dinner menu tonight.

Rubicon (Harrisburg) hosts a Brazilian Carnival party tonight, featuring a traditional Brazilian menu designed by resident Brazilian chef, Elide Hower; live music from Brazilian percussive musical duo Monica & Pedro. Carnival costumes encouraged.

Shank’s Tavern (Marietta) hosts a Fat Tuesday celebration with gumbo served all day, drink specials and a blues-themed open mic with Gabrielle Bonet on tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Spring House Taproom (Lancaster) features $1 off pints all day for Fat Tuesday on today.

Stubby’s (Lancaster) features a Mardi Gras celebration with food and drink specials, including $2 Yuengling Lager drafts, tonight.

Tourist Inn (York) features a Mardi Gras party with games, prizes and music by DJ Jake tonight. Drink specials include $2 Bud Light aluminum bottles from 9-11 p.m.

Watering Trough (Mount Joy) hosts a Mardi Gras party with music by DJ Edge and Jimmy Jam and cash prizes for the most beads at the end of the night on March 7.

Valley Tavern (Seven Valleys) hosts a Mardi Gras party on Friday (February 20). Friction of the Day rocks the stage from 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. and $2 Miller Lite drafts are available from 9-11 p.m. Or quench your thirst with the Mardi Gras martini ($9).

Yorgos (Lancaster) features a Mardi Gras party with beads and $3 SoCo & Limes tonight.
