Certain combinations just complement each other really well. There’s peanut butter and chocolate. There’s greasy pizza and Friday nights. Then there’s that union of the two great American pastimes – baseball and beer drinking. Luckily, you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in that last combo this weekend. We mentioned it in our Six on Six roundup, but an opportunity this cool is worth another mention: Federal Taphouse Lancaster, over a dozen breweries, and the Barnstormers are teaming up this Sunday for the Barnstormers’ first-ever annual Brew Festival.
During this Sunday’s 1 p.m. game against the Somerset Patriots, the game-goers with Brew Fest tickets will be able to make their way over to the picnic area of the stadium. There, they’ll be able to sample beers from breweries like Flying Fish and Victory Brewing Co. til the event wraps up around 4 p.m. A $60 ticket gets you in at noon to start sipping, and you’ll be offered some limited specialty brews for your trouble. A $40 ticket gets you in when the game starts at 1 p.m. A $12 ticket aimed at designated drivers gets you into the game but no Brew Fest samples.
The fun doesn’t stop there, though: if you’ve got a spare hour, stop by Quips’s Lancaster location for their 31st anniversary cookout and Victory Brewing Co.-themed giveaways. That particular party runs from 1 – 5 p.m. If that’s not enough, mosey over to the Federal Taphouse’s Lancaster location post-game for the afterparty. There, you’ll be able to eat, drink, and be merry to your heart’s content – and the Barnstormers players will be joining you. Sound like a great way to spend a Sunday? We thought so. Grab those tickets while you still can.
