Bob Noble, lead guitarist/vocalist/keyboardist and band forefather, reformatted Blue Voodoo six months ago with band members who would dedicate themselves full-time to the Voodoo almost religiously.

"I just want to get back on the road," he comments, "with members who can actually do the touring ... We were unable to do that in the past because people were locked into the family or career thing." Currently, Noble says the band has gigs scheduled south in Key West and venues in Virginia; they also play locally throughout Lancaster, York, Reading, and Philadelphia.

Noble, who began the band eight years ago, is now joined by Syd Bridgette on bass and Milton Lightner on drums. The trio tailors their sound to a rockin' blues style, or as Noble describes, "retro '60s psychedelic rock meets blues." Blue Voodoo's latest album, to be released in January, will be a 20-song salute to the blues. Live sets include a conglomerate of these originals and covers from great influences like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton. "If folks want to get away from newer music, which I think is watered down, and see some grass roots rock 'n blues, come see us," Noble advocates. "... We want to hold true to our blues music, even if we have to starve for it."

Noble (on guitar) has toured with Atlanta, Ga.-based The Three Degrees, and plans to join them on their upcoming stop in Japan. He's also mentored local blues guitarist Trey Alexander, who now fronts his own band (comprised of former Blue Voodoo band members).
