These guys will really give you the 3rd Degree. And plenty of smokin' blues.
"We're not a variable band, we just stick to the blues, not classic rock," says vocalist and lead guitarist Spike Congilio. "That's where my heart is and that's what I'll be playing for the rest of my life; I've always been a blues enthusiast."
Hailing from Central Pa., 3rd Degree also includes Joey Pelligreeni on drums and Tony Lodde (formerly of Jumpstreet Blues) on bass. The trio, together for about a year, plays throughout York and mixes covers from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jonny Lang, B.B. King, and many others plus originals written by Congilio. "I see a lot of groups in the local area who call themselves blues bands, but then you go see them and they're playing Santana or Three Dog Night," comments Congilio. "We're all blues." Congilio also claims that he doesn't see enough bands getting the crowd involved, up off their feet, and out on the dance floor. So expect all three when you see 3rd Degree.
"There's no drug in the world that can match being on stage," he laughs.
