When Appalachian Brewing Company debuted its newest location in Mechanicsburg this summer, the region got more than just another brewpub. In addition to creating space for specialty and seasonal beer production within the former Hummer car dealership, ABC also laid a foundation for ramping up production of its line of craft sodas.
Yesterday, news broke that ABC has secured a $1.762 million loan to further expand its operations, moving its soda production from its home base at 50 N. Cameron St. to the new Mechanicsburg location – a move CEO Jack Sproch estimates will quadruple its soda output. In turn, the N. Cameron brewery will be able to nearly double its production of ABC’s four flagship brews – Water Gap Wheat Ale, Jolly Scot Scottish Ale, Mountain Lager and Hoppy Trails IPA. The Mechanicsburg facility will produce specialty brews as well.
