5 Andrew W.K. Songs That Aren't "Party Hard"

If you have been to, like, any party over the past 15 years, you’ve most likely raged to the joyous sounds of Andrew W.K.’s “Party Hard.” If, somehow, you haven’t heard AWK’s magnum opus, stop what you’re doing, grab a slice of pizza, chug a beer and rock out to it.

OK, that rocked pretty hard, right? There’s a lot more where that came from. Let’s dig a little deeper into Andrew W.K.’s oeuvre and celebrate the man’s entire catalog. Here are five cuts that you might have missed by the King of the Party.

One thing you may not know about Andrew W.K. is that he began his musical training at an early age by playing classical piano. In 2009, Andrew W.K. released Cadillac 55 – an album made entirely of instrumental piano improvisations. Check out the beautiful track “Cadillac.”

Andrew W.K.’s second single – “She is Beautiful” – was released in 2002. It might be the most rocking love song ever. The B-side to this single is the next track on this list.

Andrew W.K. showed the guys from MTV’s Jackass how to party with “We Want Fun” from 2002’s Jackass: The Movie Soundtrack. If your work isn’t cool with gratuitous “man-ass” then this video is probably NSFW.

Andrew W.K. appeared on Cartoon Network’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force with “Party Party Party.”  Hey, the man likes to party. This video shows the cartoon version of AWK bronying out with Pinkie Pony.

Andrew W.K. has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, but one of the most unlikely pairings came in the form reggae legend Lee “Scratch” Perry. Get in the holiday spirit with “Santa Claus” from the 2008 reggae-dance party album Repentance co-produced by Andrew W.K.

Andrew W.K. brings his annual Party Hard Holiday Super Special Celebration solo-tour to the Chameleon Club in Lancaster (223 North Water St.) on December 13. Get tickets here. Be sure to pick up a copy of the December print edition and check out a full interview with AWK. Party hard!
