Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Monday, June 1
1) Trivia at Anthony’s Micro Pub & Pizza (Harrisburg)
Maybe you’re sick of Jeopardy but still want to get your Trebek on. No worries: Hit up Anthony’s at 8 p.m. for their new trivia night. In honor of the occasion, they’re running some drink specials. Rum drinks are $3 from 8 p.m. on, and pounders of Pabst Blue Ribbon will run you $2.
2) Bottle Rocket at Zoetropolis (Lancaster)
As part of the Lancaster Summer Arts Festival, Zoetropolis is running free showings of Wes Anderson films every Monday in June and July at 7.pm. First up is Bottle Rocket, which helped put the American filmmaker on the map. Half harebrained heist movie, half wacky buddy comedy, and one hundred percent a nineties classic, this one’s a must-see. Word to the wise: Bring some cash for the concession stand.
3) Merle Haggard at the American Music Theater (Lancaster)
If you’re up for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to catch a country music legend, tonight’s your night. Known for his dynamic shows and hard-hitting vocals in songs like “Mama Tried,” Merle Haggard will be at AMT tonight at 8 p.m. Get there at least an hour early if you want to park in the AMT lot; the house is going to be packed. (If you get there later, just park in the nearbye Rockvale Outlets lot.) Tickets start at $65 and go up to $80. There were still seats available at posting time, but that will change fast; the show is almost sold out, so grab tickets while you can.
