3 on 3: Storytelling, a grand opening & a burger contest

Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Tuesday, May 26

1) Lancaster Story Slam at Tellus360 (Lancaster)

The great American road trip – it’s a theme that’s engrained in popular writing, from Jack Kerouac’s adventures in On the Road to Hunter S. Thompson’s drug-fueled escapades in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Come hear some of the region’s best storytellers talk about their own road trip adventures tonight during the fifth installment of the Lancaster Story Slam at Tellus360. Each entrant has five minutes to tell his or her funniest, most outrageous or most unbelievable road trip story. The event starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $8 at the door.

2) Boro Bar & Grill Riverview grand opening (Harrisburg)

After months of planning and renovations, the brand-new Boro Bar & Grill Riverview opens today at 4425 North Front Street in Harrisburg where Big Woody’s Beach Bar & Grill previously stood. Like its sister location in Hummelstown, Boro Bar & Grill Riverview will offer a wide array of menu items, drink specials and sporting events on numerous TVs. Happy hour specials are in full effect, including $2 Coors Light pints. Take advantage of the beautiful weather outside and grab a cold one on the deck that features some of the most picturesque view of the Susquehanna River.

To all of our Boro family….After a lot of hard work by family, friends, Boro employees and subcontractors…

3) Arooga’s Build-Your-Own-Burger Contest (multiple locations)

Are you a master of artistic culinary skills? Or are you just a fan of piling on as many toppings as you can on a burger? Either way, all Arooga’s locations feature the final night of the build-your-own-burger contest from 5-9 p.m. Come out to any location for burger night, add toppings, take a picture of your creation with the Instagram hashtag #AroogasBYOBurger, and you’ll be entered to win one of several prizes (third place wins a self-contained Budweiser washer game that comes in its own carrying case). And while you’re at it, take advantage of the $3.50 Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy pint special.

Want more? You don’t have to wait til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
