Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Thursday, May 28
1) Mediterranean cigar dinner at John Wright Restaurant (Wrightsville)
A four-course meal showcasing the tastes of the Mediterranean await at tonight’s cigar dinner at John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville. Savor culinary favorites like spanakopita, moussaka and baklava alongside classic Greek liqueurs like ouzo (an anise-based aperitif) and metaxa (a brandy-based liqueur). The meal runs from 6:30-9 p.m., and tickets are $60 with cigars or $50 sans stogie. But, c’mon, it’s a cigar dinner… Call 252-0416 to make a reservation.
2) Sarah Blacker at Pleasant Valley Golf Club (Stewartstown)
Take a short drive down I-83 in southern York County to experience the first dinner show held at Pleasant Valley Golf Club in Stewartstown from 6-9 p.m. The dinner and music event is headlined by Sarah Blacker – winner of Female Performer of the Year at the 2013 Boston Music Awards and a consummate songwriter who released her newest album, In Waves, earlier this month. Also on the bill is local singer/songwriter Mike Males. Call 993-2184 to reserve your spot.
3) Live Folkin’ Music & Art at Zeroday Brewing (Harrisburg)
Join Zeroday Brewing Co. for an evening of music, drinks and artistic works for the Live Folkin’ Music & Art event from 7-10 p.m. The evening includes live music from New Cumberland-based Americana group Great Northeast, along with paper-cut portraits made by local artisan Rebecca L. Adey from ModSew Designs. The best part? It’s completely free. The availability of Zeroday’s beers isn’t a bad thing, either.
