Three picks for what to do in Central PA on Sunday, May 24
1) Bob Dylan Birthday Bash at Tellus360 (Lancaster)
Seventy-four years ago today, Robert Allen Zimmerman entered this world in Duluth, Minnesota. We’re talking, of course, about prolific folk songwriter Bob Dylan. And tonight, a bevy of local and out-of-town musicians are taking the stage at Tellus360 to pay tribute the insanely large volume of songs that Dylan has penned over the course of his storied career – from his early Tin Pan Alley days to his weird ’80s material to his scratchy, devil-may-care material today. The music starts at 7 p.m. and, given some of the promo videos we’ve seen so far, it’s fixing to be a hell of a show.
2) Barks & Beers at POUR (Lancaster)
We’re seeing more and more dog-friendly events these days, but Barks & Brews does more than just merely allow your pup to tag along – the event raises money for the Humane League of Lancaster, with $1 from each beer and specialty food item sold donated to HLLC. It’s going down on the patio at Pour in downtown Lancaster from 3-6 p.m. Beers from Wacker Brewing Co. are featured for the humans, as well as plenty of water and treats for the dogs in attendance.
3) Comedy night with Nipsey at The Cove (York)
Laugh it up with Nipsey from The People’s Morning Show on 105.7 the X at The Cove. The weekly comedy night runs from 8-10 p.m. and features up-and-coming comics from across the region. It’s free to attend, but if you plan on getting on the mic, it’s recommended you arrive by 7:30 p.m. to sign up on the list.
Want more? You don’t have to wait til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
