3 on 3: An introduction, beer dinner, more beer

1) An Introduction

Welcome to 3 on 3, FLY’s new online feature aimed at serving up a daily dose of cool/fun/interesting/unique things to do in Central PA. For over 23 years, you’ve relied on us to find you events, new restaurants and bars, concerts and more – just on a monthly basis. Now, you can check in every day for a quick rundown of three hits for the night. From concerts to beer dinners (see below!), live comedy to wine fests, you can expect #fly3on3 (that’s the hashtag, by the way) to provide a wide mix of entertainment. Welcome aboard.

2) Beer dinner at Irv’s Pub (Hershey)

Pair your favorite Lancaster Brewing Co. brews with some top-notch cooking tonight at Irv’s Pub in Hershey. The four-course meal blends the tastes of seared lamb chops with Hop Buggy Amber and grilled calamari with Fest Amber (you’ll have to check out the rest of the menu on your own). Reception begins at 6 p.m. with dinner getting started at 6:30 p.m.

3) Get sour

Speaking of beer… Have you dipped a toe in the pucker-inducing world of sour beers? If not, then this month’s Beer of the Month pick – Victory’s Kirsch Gose – is a great place to start. The flavor is pleasantly sour, with some salty brine in the finish and a balanced, subtle cherry flavoring (that doesn’t taste like cough syrup, like so many cherry beers do). Pick up a six-pack on the ride home, or look for Kirsch Gose on tap at the region’s bars.

Want more? You don’t have to wait til 3 p.m. to check out FLY’s live music, bar entertainment and performing arts calendars.
