2016 Marietta Blues Fest

There is no better time to get over to Marietta. The Marietta Blues Festival and Pub Crawl – Marietta’s biggest party of the year – takes place from 3-9 p.m. on Oct. 8.

Music historians and ethnomusicologists alike generally agree that the Mississippi Delta is the birthplace of the blues, but what about the Susquehanna River? Where does that great river fit into the saga that is the blues? Well, if you haven’t already guessed, or if you somehow blacked out and forgot everything you’ve read up until this point, we’ll tell you. It’s the legendary Marietta Blues Festival Pub Crawl and it features lives music at five bars: McCleary’s Pub, Shanks Tavern, Nick’s Bistro, The Railroad House Inn and Pig Iron Brewing. There is no cover for the crawl and bars will be offering specials on beers from sponsors Sixpoint Brewery, New Belgium, Deschutes Brewery, Ithaca Beer Co., Yards Brewing Company and Starr Hill Brewery.

Here’s the schedule:

3-5 p.m.
Liz Fulmer, Bob Noble & Blue Voodoo at Shank’s Tavern
Sonic Tonic and Moe Blues at Pig Iron Brewing

Corty & The Clarksdale Freeboaters at McCleary’s

Tony Torres & Real Gone at McCleary’s
